Is my data safe?
Yes. Your data is stored on your device. If you have iCloud enabled, it also syncs across your Apple devices. We don't have access to your collection data.
Do I need an account?
No. Canadian Coin Heads works completely offline without any account. Just download and start tracking your collection.
How do I backup my data?
Go to Settings and use the Export feature to save your collection as a JSON file. You can also enable iCloud backup on your device to automatically back up app data.
How accurate are the spot prices?
Spot prices are fetched from market data providers and updated periodically. Prices may be delayed by a few minutes. For trading decisions, always verify with your broker or dealer.
Is the app free?
Yes. The current App Store release is free and all core features are available without a paid plan.
The AI identification isn't accurate. What should I do?
AI identification works best with clear, well-lit photos of the coin's obverse (front). If results are inaccurate, you can always edit the details manually after adding the coin.
Troubleshooting
App won't open or crashes
Try force-quitting the app and reopening. If the issue persists, restart your device. As a last resort, delete and reinstall the app (note: this will delete your local data unless backed up).
Spot prices not updating
Check your internet connection. Prices require an internet connection to update. You can also manually refresh by pulling down on the collection screen.
Market data is missing or stale
Check your internet connection and pull to refresh. If upstream providers are delayed, the app will show the last cached values until fresh data is available.
